About the museum
The museum shows the history, worship and devotions of the main church of Puerto de la Cruz, founded in the early 17th century. The monument is a reflection of the existence of the town from its earliest origins to the arts of the recent centuries. As a reflection of cosmopolitanism that conditioned the existence of Puerto de la Cruz from its earliest origins, the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia - and ultimately, the museum that you are about to visit-, brings you the best of what was used in last for divine worship. It also demonstrates the openness of the society and the arts of the archipelago in recent centuries, showing excellent pieces of local artists, other acquired in various Peninsula cities by different means, rich jewels that grateful “parishioners” sent from the New World as offering and, especially, jewels of foreign bourgeois acquired in various Europe places.
